Have you ever thought of homebrewing? Or maybe you actually brew professionally. It's a lot like cooking. Women were the 1st brewers - that's how they got the designation as high priestess. What are your thoughts or experiences with it?
Yesterday, I was judging at the War of the Worts, held at Keystone Homebrew Supply in Montgomeryville, PA. There were 880 entries, making it the largest homebrew competition on the East coast, not counting Sam Adams Longshot.
Two women won ribbons in the competition, and I couldn't help wondering why more women don't brew. It's really pretty much a cooking thing. Even the mash looks like oatmeal.
Do you brew? Are you afraid to try, intimidated by the sheer size and weight of the equipment? Or is it the science-chemistry-engineering factor?
